Work begins to transform Bar & Beyond into a competitive socializing platform
Work has begun to transform the former Bar & Beyond unit in Stevenage Leisure Park into a Boom Battle Bar – a “competitive socialising” venue offering activities including axe throwing and shuffleboard.
It is due to open before the end of next month, the venue is also set to offer curling, boules, pool, AR (augmented reality) ,table tennis, arts and crazy golf.
Planning permission for change of use was granted by Stevenage Borough Council at the beginning of this year, allowing Boom Battle Bar to offer indoor leisure activities.
The unit has been vacant since Bar & Beyond closed in summer 2020.Boom Battle Bar has more than 25 venues across the country.
The Boom Battle Bar application explains: “We are the nation’s largest provider of competitive socializing, with a range of activities suitable for every member of the family, and a large selection of on trend hot fresh street food, soft drinks and alcohol.
The venue is marketed primarily to families, with an adults-only presence after 7pm.
