Stevenage International Day is making a welcome return to the Town Square on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 11am to 3:30pm. The Town Square is set to host a great selection of stalls to browse, performances to enjoy and tastings to savour.
Organised by Stevenage Borough Council in partnership with World of People’s Promotions, the one-day event will celebrate the music, dance, art and fashion from different cultures around the city.
Discover the best local artisan foods
This year’s event will showcase the very best of local produce and artisan producers. Visitors can taste the culinary delights that the area has to offer and shop for more to take home.
Alongside these stalls will be internationally-inspired street food, with visitors able to try out everything from Chinese noodles to authentic Greek Souvlaki and jerk chicken from the Jerk Chicken Man – all of which will be available to sample.
Nigel’s Hot Scotch Pepper Sauce will also be there, offering samples and jars of his famous hot sauce.
Enjoy live performances
On top of this, while visitors enjoy the array of delicious food options, they’ll be entertained by live music and dance performances from the likes of Asian Drummers, the Warriorz street dance group, Filipino Dancers and special guest star, international recording artist, RasDemo.
Cllr John Gardner, executive member for environment and regeneration at Stevenage Borough Council said: “We’re really looking forward to once again hosting Stevenage International Day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the diversity of our town. We have some delicious food and drink available to sample and a beautiful array of handmade products on offer.”
He continued: “There’s no doubt that the live performances will add even more vibrancy to this event that celebrates music, dance, art and fashion from across the globe.
So mark your calendars, and head down to the Town Square on Saturday, October 16, from 11am to 3:30pm.
